It will come as no surprise that the description on this painting is the same as on the Cotswold Dry Stone Waller as it is the 2nd painting in the exhibition of stone walling

Growing up on a farm between the wars was bound to influence Norman's paintings and none more so that the countryside occupations especially in the Cotswolds where virtually every field is bordered by stone walls

Norman's sketch books are full of small 'doodles' of a variety of skills such as stone walling on different pages and once home he would work on the composition bringing together all the components to produce the finished work
