Another character painting from the Woodland Cottage public house. Norman would sit for hours over a pint of beer, sketching the characters that frequented the pub.

The following week he would work on the painting, usually an hour at a time, returning to it at intervals bearing in mind that when Norman painted the Old Timer, the Old Timer was probably younger than Norman who was then 82 years old
