Stanley Banner, R.B.S.A.
Stanley Banner’s work has regularly hung in London Galleries including the Mall Galleries – Royal Institute of Watercolour painters and he was awarded their bronze prize for the most outstanding work for a non member
He was an elected member of the RBSA , Easel Club and Birmingham Watercolour Society of which he has served as President
His preliminary paintings are sketched and painted on site, no pencil work, purely using the brush. His finished paintings come from the sketches using pure watercolour techniques. This is Stanley’s chosen medium because if handled carefully it gives a freshness to the finished work
His aims are to achieve a true resemblance of the subject. His favourite subjects are landscape, buildings, canal and farm scenes. He was also tutored by the late Arthur Bell-Foster. RBSA, who was a strong influence on Stanley’s work
