Antony Gibbs was born in Birmingham in 1951 and although he attended the Bourneville School of in 1969, he left after a year to become primarily a self-taught artist
Gibb’s early paintings were mainly landscape as the 2 paintings for sale on our website, influenced by John Constable’s work but in his own style. Later he followed David Shepherd into wildlife paintings but his love of painting landscapes enhanced his wildlife paintings
Landscapes with trees, the sky with cloud formations and the countryside are among Gibb’s favourites where the subject just seems to become a secondary part of the painting
Gibb’s says that “If I can communicate the enthusiasm and fascination for all these things and more, through my painting it would bring a tremendous sense of pleasure to me"
